  • Trident Z RGB on ASUS motherboard

I recently built a new PC with ASUS Prime X470-PRO motherboard and AMD Ryzen 2700 and G.Skill Trident Z RGB (2 × F4-3200C14D-16GTZRX).

The motherboard detected and auto-configured the speed and timings as 1,866 MHz at 1.2 V. If I changed the speed to 3,200 GHz in the AI Tweaker tab, the voltage remained unchanged at 1.2 V and latency at CAS 16… The XMP profile shown in the Tool tab » ASUS SPD Information does match the advertised specs but the motherboard won't set them properly.

How can I configure to get the advertised specs as 3,200 MHz, 1.35 V, and CL 14-14-14-34? Do I have to configure everything manually?

    Regards,
    Anson

    Hi Anson

That is a 16GB memory kit so it is designed to run at DDR4-3200 alone in a system. If attempting two kits, results are not guaranteed.

Make sure to have the latest BIOS for the motherboard

Enable DOCP and see if each kit is stable at DDR4-3200, then test them together to see what they can run at.

With full slots, you can consider manual settings if DOCP has limited results.

Let us know how it goes
