  • Trident Z Neo on older motherboards?

So I am about to buy a new system with a ryzen 3600 and probably a b450 tomahawk max

I fell inlove with the new NEO releases and I was confused by the Statement "Trident Z Neo is engineered to achieve optimal performance with the latest AMD Ryzen 3000 series *on AMD X570 motherboards*"
I would prefer to buy a b450 tomahawk instead of a x570 Board because its cheaper and I hate chipset fans.

    Can a b450 with 2 x 8GB Neos suffer a big loss of Performance?

I'd try overclock them a little bit but I dont care too much about it

Sorry, did not see this post sooner for some reason.

B450 would basically limit the memory modules, so you are not exactly taking a performance loss, the system simply would not take full advantage of the memory kit. The memory kit can run as fast as the CPU and mobo combo can support. Use the latest BIOS for best results.
