  • Only 2 out of 4 DDR4 stick working.

    Hello,

Just looking from some help with a ram issue I am currently having,

    Recently purchased :-

    - ASUS X99-A II Intel LGA 2011-3 ATX Motherboard
    - G.Skill Trident Z 32GB (4x 8GB) DDR4 3200MHz Memory (FA-3200C16Q-32GGTZB)
    - Gigabyte AORUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB Video Card
    - Intel Core i7 6800K Broadwell-E 6-Core LGA 2011-3 3.40GHz CPU Processor

After installing windows I realised the PC was only detecting 16 GB out of the 32 GB. Removed 3 sticks and left the first one in. Worked fine and computer showed the correct 8 GB. Moved that working DDR4 stick to all the other slots available on the motherboard and each time the four different slot worked fine. Moved onto the next stick and the same results happened. But the last two stick would not work in any of the slot positions.

The fact that two of the sticks work in any combination or by themselves in all the motherboard slots shows me the issue isn't in the motherboard. The PC is currently running perfectly with no other issues. Just the fact 2 out of the 4 stick don't work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated on this.

Send them in for RMA exchange to see if a new kit works better:
