  • Ripjaws V DDR4-3200 XMP won't boot

    Specs:
    Asus x99-A/USB 3.1
2 Packs of F4-3200C16Q-32GVKB for 64 GB total.
    5930k

Boots fine with the default speed, but when I enable XMP in the bios, it fails to boot. Bios has been updated to the current version, but it didn't help.

What should I try to get these running at the right speed?

    Use manual settings.

XMP is for 32GB, not 64GB. Purchase a 64GB kit if you want guaranteed full specs

Do you have the latest UEFI?

I have the latest bios for my motherboard (X99-A/USB 3.1 BIOS 1901) that was released 9/14/15.

I tried setting them manually, but I'm not sure of all the settings that are required. I set the timings to 16-18-18-38 and the ram speed to 3200. I also manually set the voltage for both channels to 1.35 volts. I wasn't able to boot in that scenario.

Try a lower value first, then work up. You have two packs so it is not guaranteed they can run at 3200 together in the same computer
