I am looking to increase my 8 GB RAM to 16GB. Current configuration is Asus A85XM-A main board, AMD A6-6400 CPU, and one G.Skill F3-14900CL10-8GBXL RAM.

A search for that comes up with F3-14900CL10S-8GBXL. Is the F3-14900CL10-8GBXL still available?

If not, can I just add the F3-14900CL10S-8GBXL to the board (where I assume its 1800MHz speed would be reduced to match the 1600MHz of the current RAM), or should I purchase two of the new ones?

F3-14900CL10-8GBXL is most likely one module from a F3-14900CL10D-16GBXL or F3-14900CL10Q-32GBXL kit.
F3-14900CL10S-8GBXL is a single retail module.

From my guess the specs probably are identical, but as always mixing memory is a bit of a gamble compared to using factory matched kits.

What is the model of the existing RAM? Most likely they will not match, so it is best to purchase a new kit to replace it.
