  • F3-2133C9D-16GXH - How to configure in BIOS

I purchased 2 x F3-2133C9D-16GXH kit (Total 32GB) and was hoping to get it to run at 2133 MHz by enabling XMP. Now I didn't realize at the time of purchase that it might be an issue if all 4 sticks are not from the same kit. Now I'm under the impression, that the timing listed for this kit, 9-11-11-31 is for when you use 2 sticks.

How do I configure the BIOS to run all 4 sticks at 2133 MHZ? Right now if I enable XMP (Profile 1), the system because unstable. I am getting random BSOD errors. It seems to be fine when I disable XMP but frequency goes down to 1333 MHz. I have tried entering the timings manually and raising the DRAM voltage to 1.60V but it has not helped. Are there any other settings in BIOS that I need to change?

    I have a Gigabyte Z97MX Gaming 5 motherboard and an i7 4790k CPU.

Do not use XMP, manually input settings in BIOS.

If unstable, raise timings to 10-11-11-31 or 9-12-12-31 to see if that can work with 1.60V. If not, you may need to try DDR3-1866 9-10-10-28

Also, do you have the latest BIOS?

Let us know how it goes.

Unfortunately both the timings for 2133 has not helped. If I set the timings for 1866, do I still keep the voltage at 1.6? Motherboard has the latest BIOs installed. For 2133, are there any other settings that I might need to change? I was reading about Voltage Agent needing to be increased and some other voltages as well. I have never done this before so I'm a little worried about damaging any components.

Yes, always keep DRAM Voltage at 1.60V or 1.65V to maximum performance

VCCSA (System Agent) Voltage can be increased to provide the memory controller a boost to better support RAM
