Hi!
I have a PC with an ASUS P5Q3 Deluxe mobo and an Intel Q9650 processor. The machine has 4 GB and I'm looking to upgrade it to 16 GB, since I do image processing (pictures).
After reading the posts, particularly this one http://www.gskill.us/forum/showthread.php?t=4621, I'm not sure which kit should I buy. The manual says that the mobo does not support modules made up of 128 Mb chips. Furthermore, I don't know whether I should buy 1.35V or 1.5V. Finally, I've read that even though 1600 MHz sticks are compatible with 1333 MHz, there is some kind of problem with auto-detection and BIOS settings should be tweaked manually. A bit too much information .
I'd appreciate suggestions for a 16 GB upgrade or 2x8GB with a tested combination, since I live abroad and exchanging sticks is a problem for me.
Regards,
Alberto
