Good day. I have a Dell Inspiron N5010 with Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit).
CPU: Intel Core i3 M350 @ 2.27GHZ
Motherboard: Intel HM57 Chipset
Stock Memory: PC3-10600S @ 1066MHz (2x2GB)
I bought Ripjaws F3-1600C9D-8GRSL (2x4GB) and installed it yesterday. While the computer recognized it (could be seen on the Dell 'F2' Setup menu), when Windows tried to start, just got strange red, blue & green pattern across the entire screen and would not boot.
I tried removing and swapping each of the sticks in both slots, same result. I do not have another laptop to try the memory in (just to verify it's not defective/damaged). Replacing the original RAM and Windows boots just fine.
Is this memory not compatible with my Dell?
Thank you in advance,
-Ben
