  • Unable to activate XMP in DX58SO

    Hi,

I just bought "GSKILL 8GB DDR3 1600MHZ SNIPER (F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR)" and system is booted with the same. when i am enabling XMP for getting 1600, the device is going into a boot loop. After couple of failed boot attempts, it will show the below message

"the system bios had detected unsuccessful post attempt, possible causes include recent changes to bios performance optiosn or hardwar changes. Press Y to enter BIOS or N to cancel and load attempt to boot with previous settings."

Below is the working settings and is showing 1080Mhz

Below is the settings in BIOS when i enable XMP

Any help is getting XMP enabled?

    HW Info

    Mother Board: Intel DX58SO
    CPU: Intel Core i7 920
    Memory: GSKILL 8GB DDR3 1600MHZ SNIPER (F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR) (2 x 4GB)

Do not use XMP, manually input the DRAM frequency, timings, and Voltage in BIOS.

    QPI Voltage looks pretty high.

Do you have another program like CPUz that I can see the memory settings?

      Hi Admin,

Thank you for your reply. Since I am not able to boot with XMP Enabled, I will share the screenshot and the report by using CPU-Z when using the default setting (Automatic).

      Screenshots below

      Memory Tab

I am using the Slot# 3 and Slot# 4 in MBD. Screen shot of respective slots below

      Slot#3

      Slot#4

Also I have attached the full CPU-Z report for your reference.

Manually input values for the RAM to see if it can work at a higher frequency like DDR3-1333 8-8-8-24 1.50V

            OK, now you can try:

            Memory Multiplier 12

            tCL 9
            tRCD 9
            tRP 9
            tRAS 24
            tRRD 5
            tWR 12
            tWTR 6
            tRTP 6
            tRC 39
            tFAW 24

Let me know how that goes

              Hi Admin,

Made changes as per your suggestions and the BIOS settings are shown below

Also the device is now showing to be running 1621Mhz. Will that be a problem?

Also my plan is to add one more sinper 4GB stick to make it 12 GB. Will the above setting can continue to stay as it is?

Thank you for the excellent guidance

Your CPU Host Frequency is overclocked a little, but everything should be fine because it is only a little.

The settings remain the same whether you have 2 or 3 modules.

                    same problem

Hello, my name is Gustavo, and I have carefully read their instructions, unfortunately does not work for me. The multiplayer is Uncore Sets 24 automatically, do not know if this influences.
my case is similar, I bought 3 Ripjaws
                    F3-12800CL9S-4GBRL
                    F3-12800CL9S-4GBXL
                    F3-12800CL9S-4GBXL
                    each CL9-9-9-24 1.5v
The XMP-1600 does not work me.
I just want a solution that improves the performance and take my newly acquired memories.
No more to say, thanks for your time gustavo

XMP is not designed for that motherboard so it won't work.

Follow the timings mentioned above, manually input them and see how they work.

Post a picture of your BIOS so we can see if everything is correct.
