  • Wierd RAM behavior on X79

    Hello.

1st of all: thanks to G.Skill for producing awesome memory!

I have an issue (not very an issue, just need and advice)

Recently I finally managed to collect quad channel benching kit based on PSC X ICs. I made sure they all are PSC X.
(Almost forgot, Im running Asus R4E with 4930k CPU)

My sticks are F3-16000CL6T-6GBPID and F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO.

PI kit works awesome, 2720 8-12-8 CR1 1.9v on air, but Eco kit causes problems. (I tested them separately)

The 1st issue - I cant post while using CR1 with freq above 1600mhz. 01 debug code.
I also cant post with XMP (7-8-7-24 CR2 1.35V) but I don't care much about it.
Eco are posting at 2666mhz ram freq but mostly on auto settings, they are unstable and almost every manual timing setting prevent system from posting (01, BF or 5A codes).

Codes aren't about the mem much, so it doesn't seems to me that I ask for more than it can achieve.
Similar behavior was seen when I tried PerfectStorms kit (mhn-e hypers) on X79.

Is it any chance for Eco kit to be like incompatible with X79 IMC or something?

Thank you and sorry for my worthless English)

Are those SN 0640 or 1040 ECOs or something completely different?

Both pi and eco are 1040
Actually, I had removed heatspreaders to check ICs.
Pi are XDY, Eco are XEH.

Dont think they probably much want to suggest running their kits that far out of spec, could be wrong but usually someone answers stuff on here routinely
