  • F3-17000cl9q-16gbzh 1866?

Hi guys, I enabled XMP2133, memtest fail, tried 2000, again memtest fail. XMP 1600, works great. Second step, XMP 2133, VCCSA to 1.25, Windows 7 hangs and won't boot. Third attemp, XMP 2133, VCCSA to 1.159, crash (ouch). Reset XMP to 1866 at 1.65V VCCSA .916 and stock timings 9-11-10-28 2T, everything is rock solid. Kind of at a loss here, I mean 1866 is blazing fast, don't get me wrong, but I bought 2133 and would like to utilize it. Is there any way? What am I missing. By the way, this is my first look at G-skill and so far so good.

Check that you have the latest BIOS, then enable XMP, select profile 1 and should be at 2133, if no joy check that CPU/VTT or VTT is about 1.15...If still problems, post up your system voltages and DRAM timings under XMP, both the base and the advanced/secondary timings

Hard reset the BIOS, the memory should work by just enabling XMP. Check what VCCSA is in XMP, and set it to that, or leave as is.

      Keep us posted.

Thank you guys for your input. However, either I have a lazy CPU, Mobo or I bought the wrong mem kit, because nothing will get this memory to 2133, XMP shows it ok and timings are ok. Prime and Aida64 both fail this as well as Memtest at 2133. Memtest passes sticks at 1600, so that's what I'm running. I have spent too much time on this to continue. I'm down to 1600Mhz and I'm done with it. I did see on your site that F3-2400C 10D-8GTX is going to work. I would prefer 16GB, would 2 kits be ok or should I just accept 8GB and be done with it. Want to trade or do I need to send this back to Newegg and be without a "puter for who knows how long. I am looking for the right RAM for this build, you can see what I have, what would you suggest I do.

        Signed, Frustrated

With Memtest, did you check the sticks individually (4-5 passes should suffice), if all fail, I'd guess mobo or CPU, if only 1 or 2 fail then it's probably the sticks)

            Thx Tman,
Ran all sticks as suggested, 1 at a time, they all passed at at 2133 and .925 Vccsa. Tested 2 sticks at a time in slots A2 and B2, the blue ones, and they work great at 2133 using XMP. When 4 sticks are installed, Memtest fails at all Vccsa tries from .925V to 1.2V, all at stock timings.

What's the CPUVTT at, try with both that and the VCCSA at 1.2, then if that boots, try scaling back the VCCSA a bit?
