  • Abit AB9 Quadgt and 4 or 8 GB Ram Upgrade

Looking to upgrade my system from 2gb (Corsair Dominator 8500) to either 4gb or 8gb Gskill ram and need your opinion. Advantages of going to 8gb and will it overload the board being at max?

    m/b: Abit AB9 Quadgt
cpu: E6600 with slight overclock ( looking to put a Q9550 in with the last bios rev abit had made for this board)
    Operating System: Win7-64

Gskill Ram looking at: F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ, F2-6400CL4D-4GBPI-B or F2-8500CL5D-4GBPI-B

Some have told me that going with the 6400CL4D and their tighter timings would be better for my system than the 8000 or 8500.

Any suggestions would be appreciated along with the best timings.

System is used mostly for gaming and video.

    Thks

You'll want to go with the G.Skill F2-6400CL4D-4GBPI-B. Your motherboard may not be able to operate DDR2-1066.

    Thank you
