  • Crashes & Numerous Problems

    I have a Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6700 @ 2.66GHz, Motherboard: Asus IPIBL-LB Socket 775(HP/Compaq name: Benicia-GL8E), Memory:2G|GSK F2-6400CL5S-2GBPQ R (I have Two of these) and set of) 2Gx2|GSK F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ R. I have a total of 8 Gigs of Memory.

Now my problem: After installing my memory I get Blue Screens, Software failures and I have to keep installing my Infared Remote Control Driver just to get it to work. Before installing this memory I was using stock memory that came in this machine, but with that memory I never had any problems! So, is this G. Skill memory that I have not right for my machine, do I have bad sticks or what could the problems be? I need help, Please! Here is my CPU-Z Report...

You'll want 5-5-5-15, DRAM Voltage 1.9, Command Rate 2T, tRFC about 88, will prob have to raise NB voltage .1.......... also may want to OC the CPU, try running FSB at 1333 and raise vCore accordingly.

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

      How Would I do this?

i am not able to find a BIOS that I can configure as it appears my BIOS is locked and won't let me change the settings.

If it's locked you'll have to contact ASUS

When I run memtest I get this error: Memory error detected! Pair 51313838 does not store values accurately. What do I do now and would this give me the problems I am experiencing?

Yes, that is part of the problem, but it doesn't necessary identify where the problem lies. In order to troubleshoot the issue, I will need you to post screen shots of your BIOS so I can see what you may have set incorrectly.

              About my BIOS

Please, read my previous posts and you'll see my problem. My BIOS is locked and the settings cannot be changed. I have contacted ASUS, AMI and HP and they will not give me a BIOS version that is not locked. I know it's the NEW memory, because my comp didn't give any problems until I put the NEW sticks in.

Sorry about that, did not understand at first.

Try testing two sticks at a time to see if both sets work fine. If so, then you simply can not run 8GB since your BIOS is locked and the proper adjustments can not be made. Now if one set works fine, while the other errors, then you will simply need to return the bad sticks to us for new replacements.

                Thank you

                  Memtest Completed

I finished my Memtest and found one stick that failed and posted errors. The stick that failed is: F2-6400CL5S-2GBPQ. The other 3 sticks test fine and they are: F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ R. Now the stick that tested bad is it compatible with the sticks that are good and how do I go about RMAing the bad one back. I bought these sticks from Newegg about a week ago. Would it be faster to RMA back to you or Newegg? I need this machine up and running as fast as possible.
