  • F2-6400CL6D-8GBMQ vs F2-6400CL6S-4GBMQ

    Hello everyone,

I wanted to make sure that these two DDR2 memory modules are identical? F2-6400CL6D-8GBMQ kit and the single stick F2-6400CL6S-4GBMQ

I know that the F2-6400CL6D-8GBMQ 8 Gb kit is compatible, with my M3A79-T Deluxe motherboard from what the compatibility manual states (minus a mistyped n instead of m.)

I have 4 x 2 Gb now, and I wanted to increase it to 16 Gb, it's Maximum allowed. The Dual channel 8Gb kits are getting harder to find and the F2-6400CL6S-4GBMQ are a bit easier to locate right now.

I understand that the F2-6400CL6D-8GBMQ 8 Gb kit is dual channel and I would assume that the F2-6400CL6s-4GBMQ is nearly identical except that they are sold in single sticks (but still able to run in dual channel mode, I hope...)

    Thank You.

    Sincerely,

    Robert aka rjpjrblue

Correct, hopefully two separate modules can work well together in a machine.
