DRAM CLK Period Setting

DRAM CLK Period. Mine has Auto up to 14.I have read somewhere the if you can get this to boot at 7 it can really speed up the ram. Is there any truth to this. I can get my Trident x to go as low as 5 and it is stable and everything seems snappier. What does this setting do in truth or is it best to leave it on auto...

That is an ASUS specific setting and they say the following about it

DRAM CLK Period: Can really affect performance and yet overclocking at the same time. A centered value of around 5 or 7 usually gives best performance but it may not be that great for overclocking. A value of 3 or 7 can be good for Command Rate 1T overclocking.

If you are stable at 5 then just leave it at that.
