  • My recently purchaased F4-3600C16D kit will not run at any speed above 3333 Mhz

I recently bought this kit to use on my AMD Ryzen system which has a Asus Crosshair VI motherboard and a Ryzen 7 2700X Cpu. I can't get it to run at 3600 at rated timings nor at 3466,even with the loose timings at the 3600 speed. the memory will also run at 3200 with safe timings but not at The Stilt's fast timings. is there anything I can do before trying to RMA it? I tried all settings at 1.35 and 1.4 volts and this did not work at getting the higher speeds.

I have a older G.Skill F4-3200C-14D-16GTZR 3200 kit and it performs flawlessly at the Stilts Fast timings that I used with my old Ryzen 5 1600X and for a little time with my new Ryzen 7 2700X . the 3200 kit worked great with either chip. does anyone have any idea with what is going on with my new 3600 kit which is also said to have Samsung IC's in it?

To troubleshoot, it would be necessary to test each module to see if they perform the same and what they can achieve. This would give an idea of what may be the limiting factor.

I did test one stick at a time and very oddly it would run at 3600 at the rated timings completely stable under Memtest 86 and Windows memory test. right now I found that using the 3600 Timing settings it will run at 3466 stable but no higher than that. another thing, I did have it run at 3600 at rated timings when I first installed the kit and set it up in the bios. about a day later my OS was being corrupted but I managed to repair the OS and then ran memory tests on it as I did not have the issue with the 3200 memory.

I did say in post 1 I could not get the memory stable at 3466 with the 3600 timings, I retried this later and it now works like that stable for some reason. very weird for sure.

I am using this kit at 3333 Mhz with the Stilt's tight 3333 timings completely stable and it is working great. it did give a surprising boost in performance to my 2700X. case closed......

Asus has already stated in the 200+ page on the Crosshair VI thread on their official forums that they do not officially support 3600MHz memory on their boards. Not even through OC'ing. You shoudl have purchased a Gigabyte Aorus X470 Gaming 7 WiFi if you want 3600MHz memory support through overclocking.
