  • Get 2400 MHz

    Good afternoon.
    I have the following equipment:
    AMD Socket AM3 - Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z
    DDR3 2400 - G.Skill Trident X DDR3 2400 PC3-19200 16GB 2x8GB CL10
AMD FX Series FX-8150 3.6Ghz 8X Black Edition

The computer detects the memory as if DDR3 1333.
I read that to achieve the correct speed must change the BIOS.
I have great respect to change values without understanding.
Could you tell me what fields must I change and with what values?
Thank you very much in advance.
    A greeting.

I'll be shocked if you actually get 2400 mhz to work with that setup, however here is the basic guide with amd rigs at 1866. See if you can get it stable there, and then start stepping things up after that.

Try 8-9-9-24 timings with 1.6v Dram Voltage for 1866 mhz
    If that works try
    9-10-10-27 @ 2133mhz and 1.6 or 1.65v

    A. Set DRAM Frequency to DDR3-1866

    B. Set DRAM Timings to tCL 8 - tRCD 9 - tRP 9 - tRAS 24 - Command Rate 2
(that the 1866 trident memory is rated for)

    C. Set DRAM Voltage to what the memory is rated for. 1.6v

    D. Set CPU-NB Voltage +0.05V to +0.1V depending on stability

    E. F10, save, exit, and everything should be ready to go.

If that does not help, try the ASUS D.O.C.P. function (should be mentioned in the user manual).

Hey there, Chema. Here's what you need to do to use the D.O.C.P. feature mentioned by emissary42.

        1. As soon as you see the Asus logo on startup, spam the Del key repeatedly.
        2. If you see the big clock and a few gauges, you're probably using the EZ Mode overview.
        3. Press F7 to switch to Advanced mode.
        4. You should be in the Extreme Tweaker tab now.
        5. Look for the Ai Overclock Tuner option. It should be the first one on the list.
        6. Click it and choose D.O.C.P.
        7. Press F10 to save the changes and restart your system.
