  • My new build

Hadn't built (myself) a computer since 2007 and it still ran everything okay, but this thing was 10x better!

    Intel Core i5-3350P Ivy Bridge

    ASUS P8Z77-V LK LGA 1155 Intel Z77

    2x G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) F3-12800CL9D (it actually worked together)

ASUS GTX650TI-O-1GD5 GeForce GTX 650 Ti

    Western Digital WD Black WD2002FAEX 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB

    Rosewill CAPSTONE-750 750W Continuous

scores 7.5 or better in everything on WEI except HD (of course b/c I don't trust ssd yet). Plays anything I've tried so far at max settings and 75 fps (user limited), can run whatever I want in background while playing as well and never notice in main task. Not a monster but a very very solid build.

I might just post some picks of my terrible cable management skills later.

Wish I had taken the time to route cables better, but the airflow seems sufficient so far as nothing gets even close to warm.

I used the "throw everything extra in the bottom of the case" cable management style lol

Why not connect that case fan to one of the mainboard fan headers?

That board should have decent fan controls.

2 reasons, 1) I'm an idiot the exhaust fan in the back had a 3 pin connector, the front didn't appear to. I got home and looked at it, and surprise it was there, just stuck under the HD tray. On this case you have to disconnect the Molex connectors in order to connect to mobo, knew I could do back fan but figured if I couldn't daisy chain I'd just leave them both running full speed.

        2) The fans in the case are inaudible. Figured why bother if I can't hear them anyway. However they now are running at 750 rpm average from 1150 before so that can't hurt their life.

I'm such a nazi about cable management haha, guessing that's a non-modular PSU though, so not really much you can do about that.

That stock Intel HSF though *shudders* get a Hyper 212 at least, ~$25 and about 100x better than the stock cooling solution
