Im torn between these 2 builds. Which do you think is the better option. Mainly gaming, possibly a little editing later.

    7700k $299
Maximus ix Formula $389 - $30 for bundle
    G.Skill 3200 RGB C14 memory 2x8gb $202
    960 Pro 512gb $249
    WD Black 4tb already have
    GTX 1080 Strix already have
    Corsair AX860 psu already have

    6850k $349
Rampage V Edition 10 $357 (open box with all acessories and tested by maunfacturer with full warranty) - $100 for bundle with 6850k
    G.Skill 3200 RGB C14 memory 4x8gb $400
    960 Pro 512gb $249
    WD Black 4tb already have
    GTX 1080 Strix already have
    Corsair AX860 psu already have

Microcenter is having a steal on the X99 stuff, so the only real cost difference will be the extra ram for quad channel.

Bottom one is the power processor, but you may not need that bandwidth so the first one may be plenty good.
Are you an overclocker? Have screen shots of your OC results? Please post and share your OC experience!

from the saving from the second one

either way both systems will preform like a champ and you be happy with either witch way you go
