I am looking to upgrade my memory on a Gigabyte X79-UP4 LGA 2011 motherboard. The MB specs for memory are:
I am looking at using RipjawsX 32GB (4 x 8GB)DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) F3-2133C9Q-32GTX because I may upgrade later to 64Gb depending upon my performance needs. Thsi way I only need to use 4 slots now and I can fill 4 slots later.
I need to know if this is going to be compatable before I spend considerable cash on an upgrade that will not work.
The only thing I can see different in the specs is the voltage. The MB specs say 1.5v and the memory says it is tested at 1.6v although the SPD voltage is 1.5v.
Will it work?
