You have a variety of options, (believe the recommended setup is slots 1-3 on your mobo) A) The upper fins are removable (a small screw at each end just above the sticks PCB B) or you could go with a cooler like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 which allows for adjusting the height of the feeding fan (you can also add a second fan to this cooler for the price of a fan, the cooler comes with mounting brackets)....I'm running the 2400 Tridents in the 4x8GB 32GB set on my Z77, with the EVO and it keeps my 3570K at about 36 degrees while running 4.7GHz

They are made to be removable (and it advertised so). I've tried mine with and without with no real change in temps +/- 3 degrees or so)

        K@n@y,
Did your CPU cooler fit after you removed the fins on your memory?
I too am thinking about using that cooler with Trident memory.

        Tradesman,
How tall is the Trident Memory after fins removed?
