  • [RMAed] Problem with 1 module of my F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ

    Hello,

    My config : Asus P5B-Deluxe, C2D E6600, F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ (2x1024MB)

    1 of 2 module have a problem.
When 2 modules is on my motherboard i cant boot my PC. It nothing happens when I turn on, I can not see the BIOS.
when I take 1 of 2 module (always the same) the system boot normally. And when i put only the bad module on the motherboard the system cant boot again ...

    that's what I tried :
    all combination of slot
    voltage 2.0v and 2.1v
    clear cmos
upgrade my BIOS with the last version "1236"
Timing : 4-4-4-12-4-42-3-9-5-9 (good timing for this memory ? no problem with the good module).

thank you for helping me and sorry for my bad anglish (im french).

try to clear CMOS and install the "bad" memory only again to see if it boot
If it still can't boot, the stick should be defective
Please fill out the RMA form and email back to us, we'll deal with it
    thanks

I received the RMA number and Regulation it is written in RED :

            2. Always send the complete product, if possible with the original package. If you have an dual channel kit, always send the defective and non-defective module to us.

are you sure I can really send a single stick without problems after ?

generally, we'd recommend users to send back both if they are in dual channel
but if users insist on returning only one stick for some reasons, we'll still accept that
however, what we replace you would be single channel model, so we'll not 100% sure it would matched your original one

we received it on 10/14, and found it is defective
but we only received one stick, so we'll return you with single channel model
                      Thanks

it's sent via EMS on 10/17
and it would work fine in dual channel
