  • RAM compatability

I recently built my first computer....it worked for 3 days, then crashed....Could it have been a memory compatability problem....

    MOBO http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128435

    MEM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231443

    CPU is an AMD 955

When looking at the list of Memory for that board (Which I saw after the fact) I see the 12800CL7D and the CL9D, but not the CL7D....Is this just not listed yet, or do I need to replace my memory....

    Thx

If it ran fine for three days sounds more like a newly loaded program or hardware driver, can try testing each stick w/ memtest, could also try raising the CL to 9 from 8 (the link you attached is for the CL8 RipjawsX)

      Ok thanks,

So this memory should do just fine? Just have to go into the bios and set its settings to those of the Memory....The sticky found in the DDR3 section....
First time building a computer, so not schooled yet on all these procedures....

Yes try the info in the sticky, if any problems, your mobo may need a bit more voltage to the CPU/NB
