Asus M4A87TD EVO starting problem

    Asus M4A87TD EVO starting problem

    Hello. First of all sry for my english

    I just made a build with these specs :

    Main Board : Asus M4A87TD EVO
    Processor : AMD Phenom II x4 965 SE Black Box Edition
    Ram : Corsair XMS3 2 x 4 GB DDR3 1600 8 GB(kit) CMX8GX3M2A1600C9
    HDD : 2 x Corsair SSD 60 GB
    COOLER : SCYTE KAMA
    PSU : CoolerMaster GX 750W
    VIDEO : Gainward Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 SE

    The problem is this. If i use both ram dimms the system doesnt boot and the memset let is flashing red. If i use any of dimms , only 1 of them system starts ok. Even installed windows with 1 dimm.

    Any solution ? Cuz i tested all i think ,each dimm separately , cmos reset, bios update nothing works.

    From what i heard phenom II x4 965 black edition is not compatible with 1600 ddr3 ram without overclocking, is that true ? And if yes , what do i need to overclock ?

    Which 965 do you have? the C3 125 watt version should be able to handle it, though not sure if Corsair DRAM has ans problems with the combo...if you post your BIOS settings would help....or check w/ Corsair, they may have info on your specific setup

      Try A1 and A2, and then B1 and B2. It is possible that the motherboard is defective.

        Yes , it's C3 125 watt version. Also on corsair website they say it's compatible with processor.

        I will post BIOS settings later today.

          I did that before posting on forum. No result. Only running with 1 dimm inserted , if i insert both rams , system no posting.

            Sounds like a bad mobo - but if we can see BIOS settings, may be low voltage somewhere

              Here are bios settings. At least last that i tested.

                NB Voltage is at auto, try at 1.2 and raise in increments of .02 i.e. 1.2 then 1.22 -then 1.24 etc. until stable - if still not stable at say 1.34 - check back with us

                  Do i have to change CPU/NB voltage or just NB voltage , cuz for NB voltage max is 1.25. Anyway increasing to NB voltage to 1.2 didnt solved the issue , still not posting with both dimms.

                  L.E : Ok , i tested what you said , still same . not posting when both rams inserted. I noticed a sedond thing now . if i insert dims in blue slots, the mem led is flashing. But if i insert dims in black slots the mem led it remains lit. Both ways not posting. So i am thinking that is a bad mobo.

                  I am already thinking at RMA the mobo.

                  I also included CPU-Z report , maybe will be more helpful than i can explain.
