  • running wiper from CMD or ??

    Hi

As I was trying to run wiper.exe from cmd, I get this message "No drive installed proper firmware found". what does this mean. I unplugged all my other drives including CD-Rom and have also disabled daemon tools (virtual disk drive).

I'm running on Vista Ultimate sp1 64 bit with Falcon 128GB SSD
Please help, thanks very much for your time

Are you using raid? You cannot be using RAID, also your disk controller must be set to AHCI and NOT legacy IDE mode.

no, I'm not using RAID at all, just one drive. Plus, there is no AHCI option in my BIOS. I'm using ASUS Striker II formula which is a nVidia chipset motherboard. Thanks very much for your lightening fast reply.

If you can't set AHCI, Wiper won't work properly on system 64bit. Sorry.

I've confirmed that my Dell Studio 15 does have AHCI set in the BIOS. However, I still receive the same issue that Don reports. Given that -- I'm assuming the problem is with the executable itself not supporting Vista 64-bit properly.

GSkill team -- please correct this or advise on how to run this utility.

please make sure you read how to run wiper
try to check if your Falcon SSD is installed to the first disk
and try to run wiper as Administrator
                thanks
