  • A8N SLI Deluxe - 4gb ????

    Motherboard: ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe
    Memory: F1-3200PHU2 (4 x 1024MB)
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4800+

Problem: I am trying to upgrade this system from 2GB to 4GB for a Windows 7 installation. After the upgrade the system has become very unstable. It ran perfectly under Windows XP and Windows 7 at 2GB!

Previosly I was using 2 x 1024 GB sticks from another vendor. After reading the forums I understood not to mix and match memory so I went with 4 x 1024 G.skill sticks listed above.

    Questions:

    1. the bios seems to recognize 4096 MB of installed memory but only lists 2304 as usable? Is this normal?

    2. When I manually set the DRAM options in the bios I am given values I have no idea what to set. The Bios is asking for:
    Mhz
    Tcl
    Tras
    Trcd
    Trp
    Trc
    Trfc
    Trwt
    1T/2T memory timing
    S/W DRAM Over 4G remapping
    H/W DRAM Over 4G remapping

I understand the sticks I have are CL2-3-2-5 but I don't know what the other values should be? Do you have recommended settings for these entries?

    3. I have set the voltage manually to 2.75V with no change in the problem

    Any help is appreciated!

    1. Enable memory hole remapping. It is not addressing all 4 GB.

    2. 200 Mhz
    2 Tcl
    5 Tras
    3 Trcd
    2 Trp
    2T memory timing

    Thank you
