  • Computer wont boot after adding new memory

Model of the motherboard: Gigabyte 8INXP
    Model of the memory: F1-3200PHU2-2GBZX
Model of the CPU: Intel P4 socket 478 3.06 GHz

I originally had 2 512 MB RAM sticks of of PC3200 RAM on my board, and decided to upgrade. I purchased the above and after replacing the 2 512 sicks with the 2 1 GB sticks my computer does not even post anymore. I tried to increase the voltage supplied to the RAM but it didn't help. I purchased 2 sets of the 2 GB set (so 4 RAM modules in total) and all of them cause the same behavior. I find it hard to believe that all 4 modules are bad, so my guess is that it is incompatible with my motherboard?

Do you have the latest BIOS? Do you know if the motherboard can support low latency memory? Does seem like it is incompatible at this point.

    Thank you

I'm not sure about the BIOS, but the RAM currently in my system has a CAS latency of 2, so I'm fairly sure my board can take low latency RAM.
