  • F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ and 1.8V - Okay?

    Hi there,
I bought this RAM and testet with 1056 and 2.0V and it runs stable.

Due to my OC I have to put the RAM to 966 and I tried 1.8V and it looks stable indeed. memtest86+ passed with no errors.

My question: I know that G.Skill recommend 2.0-2.1V ... but could I also run it at 1.8V with 966 setting or is it not recommended in the long run?

    My system:
    Mobo: Abit IP35-E
    CPU: Intel Core 2 E4500
    RAM: G.Skill F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ 4GB
    GPU: HD3850 256MB Sapphire

    Thank you
    Michael

If it passes Memtest and is stable at 1.8V, I can't imagine any reason to add more voltage. The lower the voltage the better as long as it's error free and stable. G. Skill specs have to cover a large batch of ICs and a large variety of mainboards. Some dimms and mainboards may require 2.1v while others require less voltage. If you have any problems, raise it to 1.9V.
