  • F3-16000CL9D-2GBPI-B only good to 1600MHz

    MEMORY: 2 x 1GB DDR3 2000MHz, P/N F3-16000CL9D-2GBPI-B, CL9-9-9-24 2T 1.9V

    MOBO: EVGA nVidia 790i FTW

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400

I can only get this memory to run stable at 1600MHz. When I use the CL9-9-9-24 2T with 1.9V at 2000MHz, BIOS does not post at all. At 1800MHz, it was unstable and corrupted my OS (Win XP) so I had to completely re-install it. At 1600MHz, I am able to run with timings of CL8-8-8-21 1T at 1.9V. I am using these 2 sticks in the black slots and I have tried running just one or the other but neither will clock well beyond 1600MHz.

What other settings do I need to adjust to get these to run as advertised?

    Thx,
    Greg

did you add the NV SPP voltage to 1.4-1.5v?
it's necessary to add northbridge voltage to run at DDR3 2000
    thanks

OK, I increased the SPP voltage from 1.42 to the highest (green) setting 1.47 (above that, the voltage settings are in red). The highest reliable (using MemTest86+ v2.11) clock setting I could get with 9-9-9-24 2T was 1904MHz. Using a setting of 1936MHz, one level below 2000MHz, gave thousands of errors. At 2000MHz, the BIOS still will not post at all. I cannot get the BIOS to post at 2000MHz for any timings or allowable voltages I try. Is the 1.9V on the memory as advertised perhaps a bit low?

I'm nearly out of options and time and may have to RMA this memory back to NewEgg. Please help.

did you run with linked mode or unlinked mode?
and did you overclock your cpu frequency?
we'd recommend you to run with unlinked mode with default cpu frequency
or you'll have to check if your cpu could run at that high frequency
        thanks

I ran in unlinked mode. I did not overclock the CPU or anything else. Also, while MemTest86+ showed no errors at 1904MHz 9-9-9-24 2T, I booted into Windows and immediately began seeing problems so I quickly exited windows and reset the memory to the default of 1333MHz but now all I get is a BSOD on boot which means once again this memory has corrupted my OS.

please check with the voltage and frequency settings below:
