  • F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ on EVGA 780i SLI Registering 2813GB

    • Motherboard: EVGA 132-CK-NF78-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
    • Memory: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ
    • Processor: ?Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor Model BX80562Q6600
    • OS: Windows Vista Ultimate SP1

Motherboard posts and test the entire 4GB. However, when loaded, only 2813GB is registering. I realize 32bit limitations, however, I should at least be getting a solid 3GB and then-some.

I have yet to enable PAE, so I figured I'd make sure something isn't awry.

Also, I haven't run memory test yet, but I would imagine you're going to ask that of me.

    Thanks.

    it depends on motherboards
different motherboards would get different capacity of available memory
you may need to ask your motherboard manufacturer for more details
    thanks

I believe I have found what may be going on. Per Microsoft on the topic:

      http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929605/en-us

      My current video card:

EVGA 01G-P3-N959-TR GeForce 9500 GT 1GB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

Assuming my 32 bit system can only utilize (w/o PAE enabled) 3.12GB of memory, subtracting the amount used by the video card for MMIO would put me around 2.8GB.

      Hopefully this helps someone else.
