  • G.Skill CL differences causing crashes?

    Hi,

    I purchased G.Skill ram a few years ago: G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) CL2.5 2.6v-2.75 Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F1-3200PHU2-2GBNS - Retail and everything was great.

My motherboard is a VIA P4PB 400 and can have 3 GB or memory installed

    I purchased another pair from amazon: of G.Skill Value DDRI Series F1-3200PHU2-2GBNS - Memory - 2 GB ( 2 x 1GB ) - DIMM 184-pin - DDR - 400 MHz / PC3200 - CL3 - 2.6 - 2.75 V -unbuffered -

installed it and my PC kept getting BSOD. I removed the previous CL2.5 sticks and inserted the CL3 ones and it continued to crash. Can it be that my motherboard does not support CL 3? this is the only difference that i see. I tried changing the bios settings to CL 3 and did not work either.

Can I call support and have them exchange it for me? not sure if that is possible

    please advise..Thanks.
Working...
