  • Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3 and F2-8500CL5D-GBPK unstable

    Hello,

    Sorry for my english, but I'm french.

    Here is my problem :

    Mother board : Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3 (bios F9)
    RAM : F2-8500CL5D-2GBPK
    CPU : E8400
    OS : Vista 64

    My PC is unstable (blue screen) and CPU Stress MT find errors after 1 or 2 mn running.
    I tried default bios settings and also to set manualy RAM settings. It does not work.
    I tried to set Ram Vcore to 2.1V. It does not work too.

    I'have seen on your website that you qualified my model of mother board with my model of RAM. Here is the webpage.
    Could tell me what were your settings ?

    Thanks a lot.

      I already did it :

      I set my ram at 1066 MHz, 5-5-5-15, 2.1V (as mentioned in the thread)

      Is there other settings to do ?

        we don't have other settings
        would you like to test one stick at one time?
        thanks

                are these setting default?
                if not, please keep them default

                CPU Clock Drive...........................:800 mV
                PCI Express Clock Drive.................:900 mV
                and try to set the MCH voltage:

                MCH Core…………….....1.400v

                and please try to test one stick at one time to check if there is one defective
                Thanks

                  PCI Express Clock Drive.................:900 mV

                  are default settings

                  I tested one stick at one time on differrent slots and they are both OK (CPU Stress MT and memory test of Vista at reboot)
                  I tested again quickly the 2 sticks together and it seems to work fine now...
                  I don't understand. I only removed and put them in the slots.
                  I will test it strong again and give you the results.

                  Just a question : how does the MCH core influences the good work of memory sticks ?

                    adding MCH voltage would improve the stability of memory controller of northbridge
                    if your issue is solved, it may be caused by installing not properly
                    thanks

                      Here are the result of some new tests :

                      1 stick on slot 1 => OK
                      1 stick on slot 3 => OK
                      2 sticks on slots 1 & 3 => KO
                      2 sticks on slots 2 & 4 => OK
