Ok, I've fiddled enough and had to reset the bios enough times to realize I don't have the skills. I have the above hardware with a AMD Phenom X4 9850. I also have 2x1GB Crucial PC8500 (CL-5-5-5-15). How do I configure my system to run dual channel at 1066MHz.

Thank you for assisting this moron.

Oh yeah...the only way I could get the system to see 6GB is to have the sticks in alternative positions on the MB, not 1-2 and 3-4, but 1-3 and 2-4.

    Signed,

    Dopey

AMD Phenom platform does not support to 4 dimms dual channel DDR2 1066
you may need to downgrade to run DDR2 800
    thanks

so if I have just the two 2gig sticks...

Could you tell me the settings in the bios for the optimum speed. Oh yeah, the 9850x4 is from the "black box". I pulled the crucial sticks after reading reviews informing how...not reliable they are. Thank you.

if you only install 2 sticks, you could run at DDR2 1066 5-5-5-15@2.1v
and you may need to add northbridge voltage
        thanks
