  • Problems with F2 8000CL5

    Hi,
posting from Germany, and i hope my words are readable^^

I bought me a new System in june

    Msi Neo3 FR PCB 1.0 P45 Chipset
    Gskill F2 8000CL5 2GB kit (2x1GB)
    XFX 9600GT 740M
    XP sp3
    Zalmann7700Cu
Q-tec PSU 500W (the cheap one)

The first 2 Month everything was running fine, had to ajust the Latency
in Bios for Ram 5-5-5-15 ,that was all...

    No Problems so far.

Then,or somehow, since middle of September i had "blackscreens" on every 3Dgame
means: Black screen and some ugly sounds for 10sec....

Since then i try to find out what is the reason???? and found nothing.
3D benchmarks are running well,memtest+86 is ok.

First i changed my PSU into a Corsair VX550W > no change
Then I went to my local dealer changin`the Board into the same one> no change
Yesterday I changed the MB into a ASUS P5Q pro > Blackscreen happends sometimes

    :=(
It appears on XP and Vista32 (fresh installation-no HD Image)

Must have something to do with my Ram i suppose.
At the moment it works on "AUTO" at 5-5-5-15 (800Mhz) at 2,1V
    CPU 1.14V,Bios version 0703 ,12-June-2008

    any suggestions for this horrortrip?

this memory should work at DDR2 1000, so you could set the dram frequency to DDR2 1000 at 2.1v and test it again to see if memory is defective
    thanks

      hi,

the answer from MSI-Support (germany) is:

      " a 100% Graphicscard Problem!"

*first time i testet the new ASUS MB, it rans with a (Memory 1066Mhz) device in Bios(at 2.1V) and it seems to work.

OK. I take the 1000MHz device, downforce the Graphicscard Core to 685Mhz and see
      what happends.

But the most people told me ,on INTEL machines it is no need to raise the MEM speed for
      gaming performance..

      bye
