  • I can't run wiper or upgrade

System: Win 7 X64, dual DRIVE HP laptop, drives in AHCI not running in raid, intel storage manager running. No bios modification available

Here is what I have tried:

Full admin and unblocked file on desktop I get wiper.exe invalid handle and a very large iindex file in root directory. The program stops working

    Safe mode, same result
From a dos boot disk, "program can't be run in dos"
From safe mode C prompt: "subsytem not available for this program"

I can't load the new firmware (not that I probably want too!) after puting SSD into a USB caddy and trying both a vista and XP machine.

    So what to do?

i remember reading somewhere that you cant upgrade firmware via USB caddy which is why i am very glad of the fact that i own a 7805u notebook.

that might be your problem. Try F/W upgrade via internal HDD slots on your dual drive laptop.

      to djmorgan:

we won't think the firmware could be upgraded via USB
so, please try to upgrade the firmware via internal SATA
      thanks

You must come up with a better way to do this,

          I respectfully agree.

Many people have SSD's in laptops as the main drive. I believe that a bootdisk is a better way. it is not fair to ask people to remove th SSD from a laptop and find a windows PC to flash firmware.

Consider too Mac Users that enjoy the G.Skill products.
