  • Memory Dumps - G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200)

I purchased G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) and it worked great in my computer for a couple days then I started getting random memory dumps and now it's to the point that the computer won't run with it in.

Model of the motherboard: MSI MS-7184
Model of the memory: 2GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 PC 3200
    Model of the CPU: AMD Athlon 64, 2200 MHz (11 x 200) 3500+

    Thanks

Just want to make sure I am interpeting "run with only one module install" correctly. I should just try installing one of the RAM sticks?

Hello. I am having the same problem with this product. Everything works fine with just one module installed. But when installing the second I either get bluescreens or automatic restarts before windows starts. The Bluescreens I had said "PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA win32k.sys" or "BAD POOL HEADER".

          Mainboard: ASRock K7VT
          CPU: Sempron 2600+

          Help

did bluescreen only happen when specific one is installed?
or it would not happen when any one stick is installed?

Thanks for the reply. No, it doesn't matter which stick I put in. Both sticks work in both slots.

did you have another motherboard to test?
it may also caused by defective memory controller in north bridge
                thanks

Havent had that opportunity...I bought it in the first place because I had a lot of bluescreens freezes (when watching videos or simply a few seconds after windows boot). Then I removed one of my old sticks (512MB MDT DDR PC400 CL2,5) and it seemed that that was it. Then I bought the GSkill RAM, installed and the problem occured one more time I think. I also bougth a new power supply, didn't help.

Does that information help you to say it is the Mainboard?

would you like to try to reinstall windows or video card driver?
it doesn't seem to be the problem of memory
                    thanks

I've already tried to reinstall the graphic drivers, various versions of it. Did the same thing with the VIA drivers. Well, I guess I'll have do Windows as well. I'll do that and will then report back to you.

                      Until then, Happy Holidays!

OK. I reinstalled XP SP2 and also tried Vista. The problem persists. BIOS shows both sticks in both slots but Windows won't boot.

or maybe the memory controller of your motherboard is defective

OK, if thats the case, what options do I now have other than buying a new mainboard and CPU?
