  • F3-16000CL9D-4GBGT1 on BlackOps X48

I followed some of the advise given to the previous person that had the 2 only posts about this RAM on this forum. My issue is that eventhough the memory is running, I get random reboots at least 1-2 times a day. I ran MemTest for a good 20 rounds and everything was good so far but I don't seem to dial in the correct settings. So my question is this, what could be the settings needed for this RAM to run it at 450FSB [DDR3-1800]? So far I have the 8-8-8-21 2T setting manually added, the volts are set to 1.75v, anything else is AUTO I believe. Thanks in advanced for your help.

PS: I was thinking if I do not get this memory setup properly, I would take a look at the new Perfect Storm DDR3-2000 CL8 2x 2GB set. Would these work on this board? I ask since they are advertised as being built specifically for P55.

    MB: FoxConn BlackOps X48
    RAM: F3-16000CL9D-4GBGT1
    CPU: Intel C2D E8500

The G.Skill F3-16000CL9D-4GBGT1 will only work for nVidia chipsets. That may be why you are having issues. Memory Voltage will need 1.9V for that memory package. Make sure your FSB Voltage is sufficient. It is important to have the CPU and FSB stable to operate at DDR3-1600/1800. The E8500 is reaching its max at those speeds.

The Perfect Storm 2000 will be compatible, but your E8500 will have issues getting to 2000FSB. (500Mhz). Keep us posted on the results.

At 450 FSB currently, what's your vCore, may want 1.35 (more or less), NB about 1.4, RAM @ 1.9 -
Keep an eye on your temps, Is the 8500 running at it's full 9.5?

The entire system is water cooled [and I mean entire], so the temps are not an issue; on full load it hardly ever breaks 45C. The volts for my CPU is 1.365 [which it has been using since I first put it together back in 2008]. The voltage for the NB is 1.46. RAM as you requested has been up'ed to 1.91v [there is no 1.90v selectable on this MB]. The CPU is running at it's spec multiplier [9.5x]; I have had it semi stable at 500Mhz, only reason it was not full stable is that the RAM was not stable with the volts I was confortable with, as my CPU runs at 4500Mhz [9x] with the same voltage it requires for the current 4275Mhz.

This setup was rock solid when I first build it with CellShock DDR3-1866 RAM. Reason I took them off is because it was a 2GB kit, and I need 4GB+ for all the stuff I run on this PC.

I meant the DDR3-2200, which is the 2x2GB dual kit.

If you can overclock the processor FSB to that speed, then it should have no issues.
