  • DELL Dimension 2400 won't boot

I installed qty 2 of F1-3200PHU1-1GBNT memory sticks (2GB total) in my DELL Dimension 2400 with Intel Pentium 4 Processor at 2.40GHz and it will not boot up. I only get the dreaded beep sounds. No display.

If I go back to the previous RAM sticks it boots fine and the display comes up with Windows XP. My previous DDR SDRAM added up to 768MB (256MB + 512MB) which I think are PC3200.

The DELL chat line says the computer should take 2GB (2 x 1GB sticks). What's going on?

For some reason not all Dell Dimension 2400s are compatible with this memory package. We are not sure why, but some work and don't. Since we are not sure what type of memory it accepts if the one you purchased will not, we do not have compatible ones available. Simply return those to your original place of purchase.

Sorry for the inconvenience, it is the only unresolvable compatibility case that we have.

    Thank you
