  • Ram Configuration advice

I have put together two systems for work. I am using Windows XP. The hardware is as follows.

    ASUS M4A78T-E
    F3-10666CL8D-4GBHK
    AMD PH II 965 AM3 3.4G RT
    Corsair PSU CMPSU-850TX
    CAC-T05 case
Stripe 0 pair WD5000CSRTL sata drives
pair of Gigabyte HD4350 pcie in crossfire
    22", 24", and 32" monitors

What are the recommended Bios settings for this combination? I do not want to OC. I just want a rock solid business computer. I use it for Electrical Estimating software and on screen PDF Cad drawings.

I received a HTSF error one time while leaving settings at auto. I have since changed some memory settings to what was shown in this thread. Was this presumptuous of me? http://www.gskill.us/forum/showthread.php?t=1753 Thanks.

    Try these settings:

    AI Overclock Tuner - Manual
    DRAM Frequency - 1333

    DRAM Controller Configuration (submenu)
    DCT Unganged Mode - Enabled
    Power Down Enable - Disabled

    DRAM Timing/Driving Config. (submenu)
    tCL - 8
    tRCD - 8
    tRP - 8
    tRAS - 21

    Rest can be AUTO

    DRAM Voltage - 1.6V
    HT Voltage - 1.4V
    NB Voltage - 1.2V

    Thank you

      problems setting what you suggested.

HT - anything above 1.28 changes to red
      NB - starts at 1.3

      What do I do?

You're looking at the wrong field. On Phenom2's, the memory controller is on the CPU, so when people talk about NB and memory, they are referring to the CPU-NB. On our boards, this actually starts at 0.800v and increments by 0.0125. Leave the NB at auto and raise CPU-NB to 1.2v

Actually, it is still the NB Voltage even though the new memory controllers are embedded within the CPU.

I see, so what do you recommend the CPU-NB voltage to be set at?

                Default would be sufficient.

                Thank you
