  • Can I run 8 GB at RAM Rated Latency?

I just installed 4GB (2x2) of F2-6400CL4D-4GBPI-B on my Asus P5Q Pro with an E8500. I had to manually set the BIOS DRAM settings to DDR2-800 CAS 4-4-4-12. I am going to upgrade to VISTA 64 bit and would like to add another of the same RAM kit since my MB will support it. If I do, will I be able to run the 8 GB at the same DDR2-800 CAS 4-4-4-12? If not, what would you recommend? Thanks for your advise.

I have the same question, but I already purchased two 4GB kits, F2-8000CL5D 4GBPQ, installed on my P5Q-E with the latest bios and I cant get it stable at 1000Mhz.

Now I'm trying lowering latencies but so far, still unstable.

Well I got replies on [H]ardocp from 2 who have 8 GB of similar RAM running at rated settings, but would still like to hear from the G.SKILL Tech ... I had a previous experience with Corsair where I bought the same 2x1 kit a year apart and had to loosen the timings for the 4x1 GB to be stable. The Corsair RAM Guy said that even though the kit names and ratings were the same, they were likely different chips.

running 4 sticks of 2GB CL4 depends on your motherboard, most P45 chipsets have no problem with it
but you may need to add some FSB and NB voltage
        thanks
