  • mixing two kits

I have two 64GB kits of Ripjaws V (4x16) F4-3000C14Q-64GVK. These kits are identical. Timings are CL14-14-14-34 at 1.35v. They are going into an X99 ASUS Rampage V 10th Anniversary board with a i7-6900K processor (which is supposed to handle 128GB of ram). Will these two kits work? I can already hear people saying "what the hell do you need all that RAM for?" "You don't need more than 16GBs of RAM!" I am a professional real estate photographer and I shoot 3 bracketed RAW files. I edit them and then blend them using a program named EnFuse. The bracket fusions are time consuming and I am going to install Photoshop and Lightroom on a 64GB RAM Disk. Aside from making sure I have the latest BIOS installed are there any changes that need to made in the BIOS?

They can work, but you may need manual settings to stabilize 32GB.

In the future, keep in mind it is best to use a single kit of RAM in each computer build.
