  • Memtest errors: TridentZ F4-3200C16D-16GTZ + MSI Z170A GAMING M5 + i7-6700K

Just completed this build and have everything in BIOS set to stock + XMP only.

Ran MemTest86 v7.1 a couple times (4 passes/test) and received two single-bit errors, that appear near the same location each time: 7893 MB-7925MB

Should I assume this to be typical for 3200 MHz speeds and stock voltages?

Any suggestions on tweaking voltages or other adjustments to get a clean pass?

    Thanks for your time... Brian

Did you test one module at a time? Both modules should perform the same if they are good.

      Thanks for the reply.

I have not yet run them as singles... although I did swap their positions and ran eight passes total while at work today. This time, no errors!

Have you seen many instances were re-seating could make the difference?

I will run single sticks tonight to see if I can duplicate the issue.

      Thanks... Brian

        Hi Gskill Tech:

I ran 8-pass Memtest86 programs on both DIMMs separately and the errors are definitely coming from just one DIMM.

Can you recommend what the next steps should be?

        Thanks... Brian
