  • F4-2400C15D-16GVR placement of BGA Micron on board and cooling

    Hi.

I bought a set of G.Skill Ripjaws V and have questions about cooling the memory and CL

    1. memory on board Micron MT40A1G8WE-083E:B FBGA Code - D9TBH with CL16. But working at CL15. so she was initially disbanded. whether it has the potential for further acceleration?

    2. of the thermal pad covers 16 chips:
    1-st 4~66% covered, 2~17% covered, 2 not covered
    2-nd 4~66% covered, 4 not covered
How do I arrange to clamp the entire surface in contact with the cover? Can I replace the thermal pads? I lose my warranty?

    Thanks

I tested several naked Micron based DDR4 kits and at stock/xmp settings with minimal airflow they barely ever broke 35°C even under heavy memory load (memtest pro full range). So don't worry too much about the contact between the ICs and the pad, esp if you don't plan to pull lots of volts into them and/or overclock them to the their limits.
