Media Keys with Google Music

Has anyone gotten the Media Keys to work with Google Music web player? You can reassign the keystrokes in the google settings but when you press the keys it does not recognize them. I tried all the different plug ins and they all act the same way. They do not capture the media key being pressed.

Also why can't you reassign the media key buttons to a custom key command?

Did you check Global/In Chrome settings? Do they work in Chrome?

Media keys are not binds so they have a dedicated purpose.
