  • F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ unstable at 1600 on GA-MA770T-UD3P

    Memory: F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ
    Motherboard: GA-MA770T-UD3P (F2 bios)
CPU: AMD Phenom II 550BE (Unlocked to 4 Cores stable)

My Motherboard is running my memory on Auto at 1333 but I do believe it can run at 1600? I have tried changing a few settings in the BIOS but I can't get it stable. Could anyone advise me what settings I should be running this memory at with this motherboard.

Also what's the benefit of running at 1600 over the motherboard default of 1333.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Set memory frequency to 1600. For memory timings, make sure they are set at tCL 9 - tRCD 9 - tRP 9 - tRAS 24 - CMD 2. For memory voltage make sure it is set to 1.65V since the default is 1.5V and is only good for DDR3-1333. Once you make these changes, your computer should be running smoothly.

      Same problem

I have the same stability problem with my computer with the same hardware.

      Memory: F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ
      Motherboard: GA-MA770T-UD3P (with F3 Bios)
      CPU: AMD Phenom II 550BE

I manually set the memory timings to the rated values with the memory voltage at 1.640V and it is still unstable at 1600. It would run fine for a bit but then I would randomly get a blue screen in Windows or the computer would lockup.

Increase HT Voltage to 1.4V. What do you timings and advanced timings look like? List them and I can make sure they are set properly.

          From Bios:

          DCTs Mode Unganged
          Cas# latency 9T
RAS to CAS R/W Delay 9T
          ROW Precharge Time 9T
          Minimum RAS Active Time 24T
          1T/2T Command Timing 2T
          TwTr Command Delay 5T
          Trfc0 for DIMM1 110ns
          Trfc1 for DIMM3 110ns
          Write Recovery Time 10T
          Precharge Time 5T
          Row Cycle Time 33T
          RAS to RAS Delay 4T
          Bank interleaving Enabled
          Channel interleave Enabled

Is SB/HT Voltage control in Bios the one to be changed to 1.4V? I want to make sure.

Trfc0 for DIMM 1 and Trfc1 for DIMM3 set them to 160ns. Yes, SB/HT Voltage Control should be 1.40V.

Computer still locks up at 1600. Once when coming out of sleep mode in Windows Vista and just today it locked up in Ubuntu when surfing the web.

You may have to OC your CPU a tad to run stable at 1600...or....loosen the timings maybe RAS Active to 27

I've found a test case with freeze the system. I put CPU-Z, GPU-Z, SpeedFan, Everest Ultimate Edition, SuperPI togehter with a CMD-Skript "shutdown -t 30 -r" in the autostart group in Windows XP SP3. AutoLogon is enabled and Windows restarts every 30 seconds. In this tast case after 3 reboots the system freeze starting the autostart applications.

I'm not sure if the applications are buggy or the system is unstable. It would be interesting to get feedback from other users.

Increase DRAM Voltage to 1.60V. SB/HT Voltage to 1.40V.

Trfc0-3 should be set to 160ns. Write Recovery Time should be able to operate at 10T.

                              Save and exit.

                              Thank you
