  • Does the new Indilinx firmware replace wiper.exe?

Do the garbage collection commands in the new Indilinx Firmware for Vertex (which I'm assuming we'll get for the Falcon) replace the need for wiper.exe?

It seems it does pretty much the same thing as wiper, just it runs during idle and is not OS or filesystem dependent. i.e Mac/Nix users rejoice

Apparently the final build will have native trim support too, but remember this is for the vertex. I'm pretty sure this is OCZ's first jab at custom Indillex firmware, so who knows how fast it will make it over here..

Yeah, I've been wondering the same thing. I have a brand new 64 GB Falcon that has the 1571 firmware, and so after finding out about this Garbage Collector thing, I couldn't help but wonder if the 1571 FW does the same thing, or at least something similar.

      I'm using 7 x64 7100.
