  • G.SKILL F3-10666CL8D-4GBRM and Asrock P43Twins1600 Intel Core 2 Duo

I'm sorry I didn't do more research ahead of time. Here is my situation:

The motherboard boots fine with DDR2 memory, but one of my sticks is bad, and so I only have 1 GB currently, single channel mode.

So I bought this memory to use 2 sticks and get more memory and boost the speed a little with DDR3.

However, with the G.SKILL DDR3 the motherboard will not POST (1 stick or 2) so I cannot even get into Setup. Are there any settings I can change while using the DDR2 memory that will allow it to boot with DDR3?

    Any help will be appreciated.

Do you have the latest BIOS for the motherboard?

    What CPU do you have?

    Thank you

          ski_maniac,

do you have the same CPU?

One module by itself will not boot at all?

          Sounds like a compatibility issue

          Thank you

Yes same cpu and same probleme. System hang-up in post. No beep nothing.
The only time the systeme boot it's when i leave a 1 gig module a bank. The 4 gig did not appear in the total memory, but the bios show "Dual channel momory mode"

Can you post pictures of BIOS, especially advanced timings?

              Thank you

OK, timings need to be changed because the system is not detecting them correctly. First to make sure, you only have DDR3 RAM installed right?

                  Change timings to :

                  8-24-8-8-10-80-6-5-6

let me know how that works.

                  Thank you

The previous memory i use was corsair CM3X1024-133C9DHX

I have to leave a 1gig module to be able to go to the bios options. I tried to put the memory timing you provide but i can't go beyond 78 insted of 80, but it's dosen't work, the system stop and restart few time and when it finally past de POST it's only show 1024gig of memory insted of 4096+1024 install

I trie different setup (1gig in the first bank and the 4gig in the second, 4 gig alone in first and in the second, 4 gig in the first and 1gig in the second bank) nothing work

(sorry for my english, it's not my natural language )
