A7V8X-LA Memory support

Well, got here one HP Pavilion t749.fi which has this motherboard. According to every source this would support 2GB of Memory total (it has 2 slots in it).

Looking for answer does this board support:

* 2x F1-3200PHU1-1GBNT chips

The A7V8X-LA motherboard will support up to 2GB (1GB in each slot). However the maximum speed is PC-2700 DDR 333, but the G.Skill F1-3200PHU1-1GBNT should be able to underclock and run at 333 instead of 400. Yeah, I cannot touch this boards memory latencies by any means. It's an Compaq "board", lol. Are you sure this under clock will happen. I know I got here one Kingston stick and it's 5-5-5-15 800Mhz it does not under clock to 333Mhz instead hangs.

800 to 333 is quite a stretch. They can not underclock so low, but 1-2 levels should be OK. For example 667 or 533 for the 800s. That is probably why it hangs, motherboard can not adjust latencies to ~2-3.

hehe, my mistake.. was so much to DDR2 and 3 now days accidentally mixed dual rating to 800Mhz. Meant stock kingston ddr-400 blocks.

Anyway, no worries.. Seems buying these will have to wait anyway for me to get the client box working even on basic level first, lol.
