  • F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK shows as F2-8500CL5-2GBPK

    I purchased 2 kits on 8/25/2008 from newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231166

The sticker on the box says F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK
    The heatsink stickers say F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK

    btw: my mobo is a biostar TA770 A2+, with a Phenom 9500

I noticed in my bios that it was only registering as ddr2 800, and attempting to get 1066 has proven a headache, so I decided to look further.
I opened up Everest, and behold:

I dont understand why when I pay for one model, I get another model with stickers that say its the model I pay for. You guys trying to rip me off :P

I don't think they are trying to rip you off.

The F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK refers to the matched pair. The F2-8500CL5-2GBPK refers to the individual module. My F2-8500CL5D-2GBPK is the same way, it shows up as F2-8500CL5-1GBPK in CPU-Z. They are 2 matched modules of F2-8500CL5-1GBPK in the F2-8500CL5D-2GBPK. The D is for dual. In your case 2 F2-8500CL5-2GBPK make up a F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK.

And getting 4 modules to run at 1066 is very problematic.

that's correct thanks for the answer
the aprt number in SPD is for only one module, but the package or heat spreader stickers are for two if it's dual channel
and SPD value should match JEDEC standard, so it's only up to DDR2 800 5-5-5-15
you'll need to set them to DDR2 1066 manually in BIOS
      thanks
