  • How to wipe data from SSD?

I just bought Gskill falcon 64G SSD a month ago and it works like a charm on windows 7 RC

The problem is, I'm now going to switch the current OS from win 7 RC (x86) to win 7 RTM (x64) since only the 64bit system is available to download therefore I need to do a clean install. I am not sure if the installation preparation is going to hurt SSD since you've only got to choose FORMAT the entire volume which means you gota DEFRAG the disc with NTFS system as well, correct?

What I am thinking is to wipe out the data manually with 3rd party program under DOS before the installation and create a new partition during the process...If that's the case what program would you recommend so it works 100% with falcon SSD?

we don't think even formatting the SSD would shorten its life or hurt it
it is kind of normal usage
using operation system would make much more read/ write times than formating the disk, but it is still in safe range
don't worry too much about using it, unless you use SSD for p2p programs

You could use the wiper.exe/trim command as well to get a clean slate.
